Baby Wearing
Baby wearing is used in many cultures as a way to keep babies calm and happy as well as keeping Mom happy and able to move about freely and use her arms for tasks. Dr. Harvey Karp of Happiest Baby on the Block points out that baby wearing creates an environment very much like the womb, in that the baby can feel the mothers movements and also her warmth, heartbeat and presense. Dr. Sears also is an advocate for baby wearing.
Baby wearing is often just a part of a style of parenting called attachment parenting. It can be a large part of helping your baby to develop a trust based relationship with you.
If you are interested in baby wearing one of my clients and friends Jessica Rohr is a baby wearing consultant and sling maker.
Visit her website at www.slingmebaby.org or contact her at 480-406-9935 to schedule an appointment or order a sling.
